The Calais Free Library has been serving the people of Calais, Maine and surrounding cities and towns for over one hundred years. Built in 1892, the library is in the National Register of Historic Places. In 1985 an extensive addition doubled the size of the library. Also in 1985 the Calais Free Library Art Gallery opened to the public.
